When Should Wedding Dress Alterations Begin?
Wedding dress alterations typically begin 6–8 weeks before your wedding date, depending on the complexity of the gown and the number of adjustments needed. Most brides require 2–3 fittings to achieve the perfect fit.
It’s best to schedule your first fitting once your gown has arrived and your wedding shoes and undergarments have been selected. This allows our studio to ensure accurate hemming, proper bustle placement, and precise tailoring.
Because alteration appointments are limited each week, advance booking is recommended, especially during peak wedding seasons.

Your First Fitting: What to Expect:
“Your first fitting is where your gown begins to transform into a flawless fit. Expect the appointment to take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. During this session we typically pin and shape the bodice, add bra cups and , adjust or shorten straps, refine sleeves if needed, hem the skirt to your shoes, and design your custom bustle for the train. We will map the bustle placement, pin the train length as necessary, and walk you through the final fitting schedule. Please bring your wedding shoes, undergarments, and any support pieces planned for the day so your fit is accurate from the start.”
